Magento Virtual Private Server Hosting - Overview

Magento runs in a OpenVZ virtual private server environment. Each customer has their own instance of linux (Debian, CenOS or Suse) and mysql with dedicated memory. CPU is reserved but burst permitted. The hosting environment is optimised for Magento based on Varien's recommendations. Customers have no limited access to administer Magento including root permissions.

Restrictions

• php5 only
• if the VPS or Magento slows or fails due to it being overloaded for lack of memory then the customer will need to upgrade to a plan with higher memory.
• support is limited to the hosted environment, not Magento code. Customers requiring support for Magento code will have to obtain community support from Magento discussion boards or purchase a support contract from Magento's authors Varien.
• Magento development and design services are not included - but we offer these services.
